Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using Snowball Journal.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Snowball Journal at snowballjournal.com (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The service

Snowball Journal is a trading journal and analytics tool. It helps you record trades and review performance metrics such as win rate, risk-to-reward, and P&L. Features may change, be added, or be removed at any time.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You are responsible for ensuring that your use complies with laws in your jurisdiction.

4. Accounts

Provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure
Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access
You are responsible for all activity under your account
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes
Attempt to access another user’s data or our systems without authorization
Upload malware, spam, or content that infringes others’ rights
Reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service
Misrepresent the Service as a broker, exchange, or investment advisor

6. Your content

You retain ownership of the trade logs, notes, and other content you submit. You grant us a limited license to host, store, and process that content solely to operate the Service for you.

You are responsible for the accuracy of data you enter and for any screenshot URLs you attach.

7. Not financial advice

Snowball Journal does not provide investment, trading, tax, or legal advice. Analytics and charts are based on data you enter and are for informational and journaling purposes only.

Past performance shown in the Service does not guarantee future results. You are solely responsible for your trading decisions and any losses.

8. Third-party services

The Service integrates with third parties such as Supabase (hosting and auth) and Google (optional sign-in). Your use of those services may be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services you link to from your journal entries.

9. Free service

Snowball Journal is currently offered at no charge. We provide the Service on a best-effort basis with no uptime guarantee. We may introduce paid features in the future; if we do, we will update these Terms and notify users as required.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, software, branding, and documentation, is owned by Snowball Journal and its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or code except as needed to use the Service.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends, subject to our Privacy Policy on data retention and deletion.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SNOWBALL JOURNAL AND ITS OPERATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR TRADING LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) USD $100 OR (B) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (CURRENTLY $0 FOR FREE USERS).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Snowball Journal and its operator from claims arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where Snowball Journal is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless local consumer law requires otherwise.

16. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Your continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
